Thumbs up exhaust droning!

Hey guys,

i just picked up a spugen dual v2 titanium tip exhaust and love the sound and all, but the DRONING! i can't stand it! The exhaust came with the oem resonator, and i have read that it reduces the droning, but i can't deal with ANY of the droning. i guess i shouldve just stayed with a quieter exhaust but for some reason i just felt like trying it out...

so this question goes out to all the loud exhaust owners: If you put the silencers on, does it still drone? I've searched and read many threads, and once in awhile i would read that people say that the exhausts drone even WITH the silencers on.

IF it doesn't drone and is relatively quiet, where can i find some silencers for the exhaust? i think the diameter of the tips of the spugen exhaust is the same as the invidias... so where can i find some invidia silencers if there are no universal silencers?

If there is no solution to this problem, despite the awesome sound of the exhaust OUTSIDE of the car and it's great looks... i'm really gonna have to get rid of it.

Any information will be greatful! thanks guys

from what i read, if you give it about 500 miles the droning goes away or maybe you just get used to it

If you put the silencers on you mind as well go back to stock unless you just want to go for the look and bling-bling

As for the droning...get you a testpipe and it will take some of the droning out or smooth it a bit, and that still doesn't work than there's a term....." get use to it or sell it "

^I agree.
A test pipe will help as well.

From my experience with trying to quiet down the Invidia, if you're on the hi-way/interstate, just stay in 5th gear and there's NO drone at all...

The 'drone zone' seems to be b/t 4,000-4,500 rpm's on hi-ways... In 5th on the hi-ways I'm at 4,800-5,000rpm's around 75mph and she's quite as can be...

Probably the equivalent rpm's if you have 4.77 gears in 6th...

I had a Buddy Club Dual for a while and it droned almost as bad with the silencers as without. I ended up going back to stock.

Go HKS instead. Best sound out there IMO and it has about a tenth of the drone of an Invidia.
