IMO, the Invidia is not loud enough.

Does the invidia sound as loud as a 5.0 with flowmasters? I use to have one of them and it got quite annoying at highway speeds for a long drives. If thats the case of droaning then may have to reconsider it.

Well, I guess we are going to see as time wears on... I put the Invidia in after all... my wife likes the dual exhaust look.. and i didn't have the money for dual Spugen...

Got a pretty good deal on it, and it looks like new basically.

My impression on it... YES, I have to agree... the droning is definetly there... but the deep sound is awesome. When I heel and toe my wife (and my friend who helped me in the install) got jealous about how well I can do it and how good I made it sound. I will find out what I feel tomorrow when I drive it to work. It isn't too different to my old GTI VR6. I had put cams on it and the exhaust got louder... sounded very close to this... SO, I installed some Dynamat in the trunk. WALA, drone gone. I dont think it will have such the increadible positive effect on a convertible but we shall see.

AT THIS MOMENT, I like it... my wife didn't go nuts.. at least yet. So we are going to keep it.

Yes Dynamat will help....the droning sounds are really bad between 3.9krpm and 3.5krpm when you back off the gas pedal. I have a Jetta VR6 with Schrick 260/264 cam with GIAC chip with ITG open intake with Neuspeed exhaust and the sound is not even close to my Comptech CAI and Invidia exhaust make. The Invidia are super loud. I don't know about you but my Invidia sets off car alarm. The Jetta never did that!!

My car did... my VR6 (lemme add some picture action for you here) had an Eurosport exhaust, which is known for being kinda loud... on top of that.. I had Cat 268 cams on it with a CAI... The cams made the car even louder still.. The Eurosport produces a lot of droning and it was reduced by installing dynamat from behind the rear seats all the way to the back wall. It worked really well for me. The only time that it was too loud was when I flipped the seats down.

Granted, the S2000 drones a lot more, but that has to do with the fact that in all honesty, there is barely anything in between you and the exhaust. I drove it this morning to work.. its a 40 mile drive. the first part is spent going about 75-90mph (avg speed of bout 82-85) on the 15 freeway and then its side streets for a good 20 minutes at least with lots of traffic. In all, I thought the freeway drive was great. No problems with the noise at all, getting ocassional looks at the exhaust (there was a guy in a civic that was looking at it for a while). In the city streets I found that it really wasn't so bad as long as I didnt decel at around 3k-3.7k too hard. Having some tunes on also helped too. Overall, I think I can live with it just fine.

I love how it sounds at WOT. I find that the AEM CAI doesn't sound as loud anymore...its not so ridiculous.. Now it just tandems with the exhaust and sounds super nice.

BTW: Props for S2grand. Nice guy.. and the exhaust was in FLAWLESS shape.
