I SPLURGED on the HKS exhaust for 900$ shipped. I loved the sound too much to take a risk on Tanabe. ANd i know Tanabe have a reputation for being HARD rice exhausts, but as soon as i heard Kids2k's exhaust note i had to get an hks.

The most critical factor in an aftermarket exhaust IMO is that it be a dual exhaust. Both the HKS and the Neuspeed exhaust systems are duals. Dual exhaust is a racing tradition, in terms of the visual...this is why the S2000, the Corvette, and others have gone that route. Various other manufacturers offer single exhaust. These just don't look right (apologies to those who have it) especially with the dual notched lower bumper.

Actually, the Vette uses dual because with an engine of that size, it flows much better. Duals on a car of our type I don't think really helps much, but yes, it does look better with our bumper. I do think that most import race cars (IE, Spoon S2K, etc,) use single exhausts.

I don't know if I agree with the statement about the vette 'needing' the dual exhaust. The camaro and the firebird both have single exhaust's and some of them are up to 600hp with a borla or something like that. They have a single pipe coming from the cat back and that branches into the dual pipes to give it that muscle car look. The vette is the same engine effectively. Just my 2 cents..

I'm probably horribly wrong but i imagine a vette having duals because there are headers on BOTH sides? so its basically like 2 of our engines side by side with a single exhaust on each.. if you guys get what im saying.. but im probably wrong cuz i know almost nothing about v8 engines..
