Default Exhausts

I've read what seems like a hundred threads about exhausts for the S and many seem to point out the T1R 70 as the best in price/performance. Others hail the J's 70mm as the performance champion and others contend that the HKS dual has the best sound.

Personally I've always liked the T1R although people have complained about its loudness. From the videos I've watched (never heard one in person) it doesn't sound all that loud to me. Loud, but not too loud.

So here are my questions:
Are the T1R 70 and J's 70 truly the premiere single exhausts?
Which offers greater performance?
Which sounds better?
Which looks better?
Which is the better quality?
What is the weight difference?
Price difference, is the J's worth the money?

I recognize that answers to these questions are largely based on opinion, and yes, I do have my own opinions, but I want to hear other S owner's thoughts and even more so any thoughts from those with personal experience with either product.

Thanks,
-Aaron

T1R and J's are definitely up there, but Amuse would be the premier exhaust company. The T1R has better claims at power than J's. Sound is subjective. I think that the T1R looks better, but then again you are talking about the difference between shiny stainless and dull titanium. Having said that though, the Amuse looks absolutely incredible! As far as weight, the J's is probably around 10lbs or so and the T1R is probably around 30lbs. Both are worth the money. And the extra $500 you'd spend on an Amuse R1 over a J's 70RR is also worth the money.

I'm not a big fan of the "we build everything for everybody" companies. T1R, J's, and Amuse, are geared more towards the S2000. Not exclusively, but they definitely give the S2000 more of their attention than say a company like HKS that you mentioned. Just my 2 cents

Ok...the Amuse R1 does not make more power then the J's 70RR or the T1R 70. The comparable Amuse product would be the Amuse R1000 which is a single 70mm catback, and I believe it is resonator-less.

Personally I do like Amuse, however, I've heard of bad things like rattles that come from Amuse exhausts...to me that makes it sound trashy. But overall their products are great.

T1R is also a good product, almost as good as J's but it weighs a little more isn't quite there in power. Though the difference in power vs difference is price would make it more bang for your buck. I can't really coment fully on sound as I have only heard clips from online. I like the J's exhaust, I will be getting a J's 70 eventually. But for now, my JIC will do. Lastly the J's is actually a header-back as it replaces the cat. The T1R comes with a seperate testpipe...and the T1R+test pipe probably only weighs about 10lbs heavier or around 20-22lbs

My bad......meant to type R1000, which is a header back system
