8 years old? You will have a bonafide car junkie on your hands in about 8 more years . truely though, that is a really cool project. I want to see some dyno charts of your son's working model.

As an elementary school teacher, I have one thing to say...Thank You!! It's to easy for parents to fall into the trap of letting kids sit in front of the TV playing mindless video games...Keep up the good work!! Jody

Wow...Thats a great picture. Very cool. Future gear head in the making. Kids are like sponges and absorb everthing. Its awesome to teach a child to always ask and wonder "How does that work?"

Thank you everyone for all of the nice replies.

A few thoughts:

ItalianBucwheat

I agree, it is awesome when a child wonders "How does it work". Sometimes that curiosity stays with you through life. It has stayed with me. I hope it remains with Adam. We should always wonder "How does it work". We're never too old to learn.

Dakota

No, thank you. Together us parents and you teachers can help to make sure that our kids, all of our kids, realize their full potential.

Xplosiv, ganthet, lehighwiz and Iceman

Actually, it is a lot of fun to have a son or daughter who is as much a car enthusiast as you are. You develop a very special relationship. Adam & I go to meets, auto shows and etc together. We even go on a little adventure every Sunday morning in the S to get the newspapers. We really do have a very special relationship.

Bob (boiler) and Rick

I know that you both know exactly what I'm talking about.

Luft46

Thanks again for posting the picture so fast. Adam is very excited about using it tomorrow in his presentation.

Those of you who thought it would be a picture of an engine after an explosion....sorry to disappoint you but this was more important.
