Default Extended Warranty

Is this something that can only be bought at purchase time of the car?

I purchased my car 2.25.00 and have over 18,500 miles and am not aware of my options.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure of Honda's policy. Normally it is within the first 12 months or 12k miles you can opt for the extended service plan.

Call your dealer. You may still be able to get one, but at a slightly higher price.

I'm pretty sure they can be bought at a later time. You can also look at going through third party services like this one:

I'm thinking about buying an extended warranty. I still have a little over a year on the original one. I'll probably start looking into it though.

Thanks for the info.

Warrany Gold quoted me:

Term Miles Price
5 Years 75000 $649
5 Years 100000 $779
5 Years 150000 $1049
6 Years 60000 $554
6 Years 72000 $649
6 Years 100000 $804
7 Years 70000 $730
7 Years 100000 $830

But is that 5 years or 75,000 miles added on from the date the new warranty is purchased?

I don't think it's 5 years and 75K miles added on, I think it's from when you bought the car. Mingster was actually the one that told me about this site. You might want to ask him some questions about it.

When I bought my Si, they said once the 3 yr warranty was up, I could opt to extend it then....I'm sure it's the same for the Stook.

You can always buy a warranty before the manu warranty is up. They always quote miles on the OD and years from manufacture.

I was told by my dealer that you have up until your manufacturer warranty expires to purchase an extended warranty. Any experiences with any of these third party companies, recommendations?!?!?!

FWIW, my nephew has Warranty Gold coverage on 4 993 twin turbo Porsches, 5 Boxster Ss, an M3 and an M5. He has had nothing but good experiences with them and never any hassles when he needs service that is covered. They won't cover the Ferraris (yea, he has a rough life taking care of all those cars for a wealthy guy).

I've debated whether to go with the Honda Warranty (at under $1K) or Warranty Gold which I haven't priced yet.
