Default Extended Warranty?

Question is who here has extended warranty? what company, coverage and price? I'm looking into getting one but after shopping around 2002 models can't be covered, the extended warranty has to be purchased within the factory warranty.

Is your car modified in any way? Does it have ANYTHING on it that is not OEM? If so, you might want to read the fine print very carefully on any extended warranty. Almost all extended warrantees are null and void if you have changed anything on the car. They'll gladly sell you one even if you have mods, but come time to collect, you could get hosed.

Pay now or pay later. $1,399 is roughly two clutch replacements in my book (do my own labor).

Nah that's BS. You can buy a HONDACARE Ext. Warranty if it was a CPO. If not I think there's still a way you can get one.

You can buy an extended warranty at any time.

you can only buy a HONDACARE extended warranty at time of purchase or if you are still within the original warranty.

the honda CPO program is completely different. That is basically a factory warranty. The others are merely service contracts.

This is correct, and also what I chose to do but only extended it for 3yrs. Although my S is lowered, so that would negate any warranty that I purchased if anything was to happen. I knew I was going to do a few mods here and there but figured if I sell the car it might be easier with the extended warranty.

I want extended warranty mainly for the expensive things like engine, differential, etc. But I would rather have HondaCare if there was a way to buy it even after my factory warranty is gone.

HondaCare is NOT just like a factory warranty, one mod and they can void the whole thing. HondaCare is no better than most the other extended warranties available; unless of course you relate more $$$ ot automatically meaning better.

Does anyone have good/bad experiances with 3rd party warranties (other than Hondacare)?

My credit union offers them and I'm considering going with theres when the time comes. It claims it can be taken to any shop of my choosing and I imagine the credit union wouldn't offer a bad one to its members considering the nature of a credit union.
