I own a Prototype shop... I can produce "print" plastic (usually ABS) parts from a 3d CAD file up to 18x18x24 inches. I could probably make em for under $150 (maybe create a mold and vacuumform them for $50-60.00) any ideas for other parts??? I'd be interested possibly making some extremely low production custom stuff. Maybe a custom cold air box??, Knobs, buttons...etc... I have an idea for those non functional vents on the bumper, to make them driving lights/cold air intake.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I thought the lids looked pretty mean too, but 185 bucks? Thats pretty steep! This is the only mod I would consider on the exterior.
TAM S2-
Is the color a match?
How are they secured to the headlights and is it a tight fit? Id be a little upset if I saw a $92 lid fly up and over my windshield at speed?

Yes .. if anyone out there has more info on these mods, it would be greatly appreciated.

Major questions are:

1.) How are they attached??
2.) Does anyone have close-up pics of the attachment and/or look of the headlight after installation?

You know what would be the EASIEST way to do it? Vinyl stickers people put on cars (sponsorship and stuff). Just have them color match it and cut it out to size.

Easy as pie, I think. I have some connections, and I don't think it'll be more than $20 a pair.

that's exactly what I was thinking... but honestly, even if they were free, I wouldn't put it on the car.

I'd be interested in mounting HIDs (Raybrig) in those vents. Can you also you create side moldings (skirts) that would hide the welded seams between the jacking points? I've only seen a couple of (fairly expensive) types for the S2K.

wdavis,

the guy at the body shop put it on with the same tape as they use on body panels... the double sided tape...

i don't own a camera so i will borrow one tonight and try to get some pics on...

the fit is alright... it's not 100% at the tip at certain angles but liveable...

the piece came from giampiero (japan) and needed to be painted... the material was the same as the body kit (from visual appearance), on the website they said the material was urethane...

anyways, i'll try to get some help on the pics... not very good with computers!!!...

btw, if mindcore is reading... you're the "help" i was thinking of!!... give me a call if you have time...

I wonder what regular vinyl cut to the exact shape of say the Gears piece would look like. I think that with the S2000 it would be real easy to match up paint-wise.

We should try to figure something out instead of paying those prices.
