In the states the holdback is ~1400 the invoice is 29,250 for 2003. I got my car for $500 over invoice and destination . I think that came to 30,250. So the deal of 31,000 with buying a hardtop from jeff at 2500 a spoiler for around 450 well that's 33,950. See I rather get the car for the right price and the goods for the right price rather then try to work it all in to a deal. Just my opinion.

contradicting xviper's reply:
while you may be able to get some free goodies when you on the bargaining table, keep in mind if you don't get them for free you'll be financing them as well. if you want the hardtop i would suggest you wait and pay cash for it so you're not financing another $3000. i would try to finance the least amount possible and buy your goodies later.

^ Of course, financing as small amount as possible is the BEST way to go. However, not everyone can come with 3Gs cash AFTER a big purchase to buy a HT. For some, the only way to get these extras is to have it all in one package. No need to go into the economic morality of doing it this way. Many people simply do. It's their money. It's their choice. And for those, it's either financing the goodies as part of a whole package or buying them later on their line of credit. As a whole package, they may at least save a bit on dealer profit of the options, which on accessories BTW, is astonishing. (And not everyone will buy from HTguy as they perceive the long distance shipping to be a hassle).

Hey guys/gals,

Thinking of picking up an S soon and was wonder what factory options everyone got with their S.
A month before I purchased my S, a train wrecked someone in Ohio. From what I was told, approx. 75 s2k's being transported to the east coast were totalled in a derailment. Needless to say, none of the dealers close to me had one stock. Several of the dealers I contacted mentioned that due to the train wreck they would not receive another shipment until later in the year. Since the car was in low supply, no dealer near me was willing to throw in anything extra to make a sale...

What I did was purchased the car and add the options over time. I found a factory CD changer (brand new), Honda Alarm System (brand new), and OEM front lip spoiler (brand new) all in S2KI's "For Sale" forum. The prices were way below what I would have paid from the dealer. The only drawback was having to wait for the items I wanted to appear in the "For Sale" forum.

There are better CD changers than the OEM CD changer, and can be had MUCH cheaper.

The OEM alarm is a joke (and not a very funny one.)

Save your money, get better parts than what they sell over the dealer's counter.

If you want the OEM body kit, it's cheaper through Hardtopguy, but if you can't afford to buy is separatly then consider getting it added to the deal. However, do NOT let them charge you for installation. That's a COMPLETE rip-off. If they do, direct them to Hardtopguy.com and tell them to price match the item.

Or buy the item un-installed and see if another local owner would be willing to help you install it.

0 options and proud of it
aren't floormats and wheel locks standard? my dealership didn't charge me for them, and they even let me get black floormats (tan would get too dirty IMO).
