Several days ago, member "X" contacted me saying his silverstone lip was up for sale. If you read the for sale forums you know I want one really bad since I post for one every other day..I was excited and jumped on the oppurtunity.
We made a deal to a price and it was an ok price, not a steal nor to high just average.

Well the problem was I didn't have enough cash at the moment because I was planning to buy other stuff that week...So I decdied I want that lip and cancelled out on my usually shopping on items I needed and thought that could wait since I needed to come up with that cashto pay him. I was worried that he would sell the lip so i got the cash and paypaled him instantly tues night. I even got another offer for a lip which I cancelled because he offered it to me 1st...He says he'll ship it at latest wed so I'm all excited!

Well Wednesday comes and he says hes very busy and can't ship yet. So I'm like ok no prob. Then today he says his freind told him that a lip cost $75 bucks to ship??? Then he went and called some palces and got quoted at $50 and $75.00 to ship the lip kit because its plastic and can break so he would have to wrap it good. Other member I have talked have got theirs shipped for around $30 bucks or 35. One guy one ebay is selling his $30 shipped...

He told me that it was to much and cancalled the whole transaction.

Is this fair? I thought we had a deal once we agreed to a price and I sent him the cash? I'm really bummed I had a bad week and was looking forward to this lip
I didn't even buy the stuff I needed for myself this week so he could have the cash asap to send me the lip.

I talked to a few members and they told me that he might have found another buy er for a higher price and cancelled out on me?

Well if you guys have a lip that you could sell me in good condition for $185 more or less shipped or so plz let me know thanks.

Now the money in my account is put on hold because it was refunded and I can't use it until the hold is off...

comon, stop being a baby. transactions don't go through all the time. unless you got ripped out of your money, it's nothing to whine about. just keep looking.

 

A lip is expensive to ship due to it's abnormal size. It doesn't have to do with weight.

 

It's fragile and awkward to pack/ship. If he took it to one of those PostNet type places to have them do the packing and shipping, I can see it being even more expensive than doing it yourself.

Don't freak out about the deal going bad, it's not the end of the world Move on and keep looking for one, maybe local so you can pick it up.

 

It's just bad karma coming back to bite you for displaying that bush/cheney advertisement in your sig. So yeah, it's fair .

Talk to me when someone takes $410 from you and doesn't ship you anything for it. Believe me...you are *not* in bad shape over this deal. You still may need a lip...but you have not "lost" anything.

Just keep looking and the right deal will come your way.

 

thanks guys, just thought after a deal was made you can't really back from it. Maybe its just me who thinks like that. Oh well I'll go and drink some beer now

 

imagine if you lived in hawaii like me!! i paid 200 for shipping on my invidia,150 for airwalker lip and sides, 120 for wilwoods thats $470 just for shipping on those items and i got stiffed 300 for another item which paypal could not recover for me.
