Default Fall Road Trip

My wife and I took a week long trip in our S. Left Montana and headed West on Hwy 2. Spent the night in Wenatchee. Then on to North Seattle. Spent 2 nights there while we toured Whitby Isl., Bremerton, and San Juan Island. Next we headed to Canada to night over in Penticton. Today we took Hwy 3 over to Cranbrook and shot down thru Eureka to get home before dark. The total miles were just under 2,000 - most of which were top-down.

Boy do they drive sloooooow in Canada. Their speed limits are about 5-15mph lower than Montana limits on any given road. Strange too, because their roads are much better than ours. We just drive fast. Plus in Montana, if the 2 lane limit is 70, most folks are cooking at about 75-80. In Canada, the drivers stay pretty close to the 90-100kph limits. I was only painted with radar once all across Canada. I was 104 in a 100 and the officer past by.

The only casualty was a lens on my Nikon camera. I slipped on a bad spot on the sidewalk in Levensworth and fell on the camera. The 18-135 lens is toast. I should sue...... but instead I bought a Nikon S9100 at Costco for a quick replacement until I could get home to put a different lens on the D40x.

Gotta love a good trip in the S. Now I'm up to 21,800 miles. scary

I didn't pay any attention to gas mileage. I do know that gas in Canada is really, really expensive and not all places had 90+ octane. The wife enjoys the S as much as I do and never said a word other than we saved a lot of $$ since we had no room to put any purchases.

Sounds like a lot of fun! Next year I want to do a road trip through the upper peninsula and around through Wisconsin in the S, I already burned through all of my vacation days this year and it's getting a little chilly outside for the wife as I do not ever drive it with the top down unless I catch very heavy rain.

Me too. My wife and I left Glacier National Park on Wednesday and traveled route 2 on the way home. We put ~6k miles on the S in the last two weeks.

Me and my GF are going to be going to Charlottesville in a couple of weeks for our road trip. I'm going to feed her dramamine so I can have some fun in the mountains, since she gets carsick. And then we'll do a bunch of stupid stuff like NOT drive on glorious curvy mountain roads the entire time.

Try some Sea Bands. My wife uses them and says they help. Not sure if they will work on the curvy mountain roads, but she can read in the car now.

I am on my way back to Oregon after a 2300mi trip to colorado where I got to drive Trail Ridge Rd through the rockies and also drove up to pikes peak. Top down the entire trip except when parked at night. Fall roadtrip ftw. Last year was hc2.

Ginger pills the night before and the morning of, combined with some tums at the beginning of the ride... got me through Aerobatics and some rough weather in the jet, and no drowsiness at all! Also, helps to eat things that are easy on the stomach and lay off the sugar and especially lay off the caffeine.
