As some of you will know - I had listed my S2000 on Ebay with no reserve price:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...1874144765&rd=1

The auction just ended at $25,555

That's not as much as I had hoped to get - but I guess the resale value of the S2K has really slumped. I would be interested in knowing your opinions on whether I lost the car at a throw away price or if you think that the final price was relatively fair. Please give me your objective thoughts - you don't have to console me. The auction is over and the car is sold.

On a different note - tonight is very painful for me . I still remember when I first drove my S2K off the lot - how exhilirated and and excited I was. What a car!! What a wonderful experience it has been - and what a wonderful place this board has been. Full of great people offering supportive advice and great insight into not only automobiles but all spheres of life. I have not posted often but have read here immensely and learnt A LOT.

I would have liked to say that I will be sticking around this board - but I probably will not. I think it will be too painful knowing that I too used to have an S2K and now don't
Anyways - time passes and hopefully in a couple of years I will get back into a nice new car. Maybe the next gen S2K when it comes out . But foremost I look forward to my child arriving next year - who I am sure will give me much joy.

I would like to thank Da Hapa and Steve UCI in particular for their support during the painful process of parting with my car.

Thanks everyone. I wish all of you the very best.

A child versus a car. No contest. I'd give up both my cars for a bundle of joy of my own. Now if I can buy that engagement ring. Congrats on your coming baby!

Your car looks beautiful and the buyer got a good deal. You succeeded in your goal of selling the car, and there is room in your garage for a more "family friendly" vehicle. Best of luck in your next adventure, surely to be a rewarding one .

You're absolutely right . I just wish the car had sold for a bit more though - would have taken a bit of the sting out of it. Anyways - thank you guys for your kind wishes.

Very best wishes to you, Moneeb. Priorities, man... that's what it's all about.

I, too, have a little one coming next year, so I've had to make some of the same difficult decisions.

We hope to see you around the site and maybe in the owner community again someday soon.

Congrats on your new family!!!

John

Beautiful car, sorry that you had to let her go.
The other statements are correct, you will be very happy with your family addition.
There is always another car down the road... there are only so many people.

As as grandfather, it is much easier. It again becomes possible to have the little babies plus the S2000. To paraphrase Hootsama just a bit: Virility compensation man.... that's what it's all about at my age.

$25,500 seems a little low, but it is winter and the demand is lower. Did you ever try Carmax or a dealer? Regardless Its a $32,500 car thats 2 (model) years old, so who knows.

Anyway, all that matters is you sold it. Good luck with the new baby.

I think you did fine. 23% depreciation (from MSRP) in 2 model years. Almost all cars depreciate more than that. The norm is about 50% in 3 years (retail to wholesale) so I wouldn't complain.
