Default Filled to 13.812 gallons

So who holds the title for filling up most in the S without having to push?

I'll start with my admission. Was driving home from Jersey after midnight and most everything was closed so I had to push the limit. Feeling like the Seinfeld episode where Kramer took the Saab on a test drive to see how far he could get before running out of gas . Nah, I was so nervous that I might have to park or leave it in the hood (Camden,NJ) at 1am. No offense Camden . So I finally find one open driving like an egg was under the gas pedal. The attendant filled but, I didn't see anything spill out so no cheating there. He also didn't top off. I might of crammed in more if I was pumping . So unless the gas station was cheating, I'm not so sure about the 13.2 gallons claimed for our S. I didn't even check the receipt til today as I was cleaning the car. This is also the only time I've let it get to less than 1/4 on the tank. I won't be going for this title again if anyone beats me .

PS I only got 263 out of this tank so you know how I was driving this tank . I normally get about 260 - 300 @ the 1/4 mark.

Edit- Found evidence of spillage so it's not accurate and I'm out. Still should be high 12's or low 13's cuz it was driven with no bars for quite a while.

Don't "top off" aka filling beyond when it clicks, you'll damage your charcoal canister.

Is it normal for the attendants to fill the cars in NJ?

If I topped off, it would only be for this situation . And yes, in NJ and Oregon it's against the law to pump your own gas.

Against the law to pump your gas? Weird. People must have been setting things ablaze to have such a law passed.

In Oregon - they claim it is due to "public health concerns" - it is actually a way to put people to work. If you have gotten gas in Oregon you know most of the attendants are very poor at doing their job. This is a huge point of contention for me while I lived there. I hated having someone pump my gas – and they were as slow as Christmas. I started to give them 60 seconds and then start to pump my gas. That got them running over to takeover from me.

LOL, although there are quite a few oil refineries in NJ (used to live there). On one hand I liked it because on really cold days I could stay in the car and such, it did not seem to up the price of gas (NJ has some of the cheapest gas in the country) and it creates jobs... on the other hand every once in a while one of them would mess up and either spill some gas on the car or something and it would piss me off. I eventually learned which gas stations hired responsible people who were competent and which ones didn't.

back on topic, the most I have ever filled her with was 12.8.
