Regardless of who makes it, or what it is made of I feel that any type of protection for the S2000's headlights is unnecessary.

I only say this because they are made of a high impact plastic, they wont break by anything on the road other than a 50lb rock hurled at extreemly high velocity.

My right front light supported the rear weight of a Toyota Tacoma, and while the glass reflector for the high beams shattered, the outside lense of the light assembly reclaimed its original shape.

I can shoot my old lense repeatedly with high powered bb guns and only leave minor scuffs on them.

Apparently you haven't driven at 105-120mph for 2+hrs before on back country roads (not that I'm admitting to this but)... my lights are trashed... pits everywhere. They resemble a 14yr kid with bad acne.

Cmnsnse, you had to be there! We weren't following all that closely, but the damage still happened. They feel like sandpaper!

Sondra has it right.. the reality is that the front car (And those following) kick the small particals up into the air... unless you are 30 car lengths back... you end up running in the trash in the air.

The constant Houston road construction helps keep my car looking its worst here too. I have tons of deep scratches all over my car exposing shiny metal and black plastic. My headlight lenses look terrible too.

Oh well, 25k miles in 9 months on Houston roads will age the car fast.

Sondra,__ you __ told __ me that following cars got screwed and the leader did not. I dont think its very smart to do that, after th first rock hit my car I would hav hit the brakes HARD.

My point is your headlights arent cracked are they?

Had to be a decent sized rock(debri) to cause a 2" circular crack in a windsheild.

I simply would not have followed. But were the headlights cracked?
