Not sure about the best but depends on where you want power. I've had Fuji and now Mugen. Mugen for more low to midend power. Fuji for more topend power. Gains more noticeable with VAFC.

There's a good thread on headers for NA cars in the JDM forum (should be called the NA forum).

hytech and then j's racing as second. I don't believe and don't trust the tracy sports test. From all of the dynosheets that I've seen of S2k's with the j's header, there has been a definite gain in whp over baseline (or previous mod). Although it was an independent test, i believe it was flawed in that a HKS exhaust was used. Headers are part of the overall exhaust system. If they aren't used in conjunction with the rest of the system that it was designed to be used with, obviously the performance will not be as great as it should be. Then all the test proves is that some headers worked better with the hks exhaust design than others. The exhaust is a confounding/lurking variable because it likely, or at the very least, possibly works better for some headers than the rest and may negatively impact some (not enough back pressure, too much back pressure, not enough flow velocity, too restrictive for the design etc. etc.). The only way to control this likely important variable is to have an exhaust that fits the design requirements for each and every header or run no exhaust at all. The much simpler method is to go with the latter. Then, the whole variable is eliminated

I haven't been here in a long time, but I recall back then when the Mugen was one of the solid midrange improvements while the Toda (which was new back then) appeared to make power everywhere and a worthy upgrade to the Mugen... but had issues with the lower bracket breaking off, which was later found to be a non-issue.

I currently use the Mugen and for street use it's a huge improvement.

Very true, Apexi doesnt make a header for the S2k and i am going to put there GT-Spec cat back with a prototype buddyclub highflow cat, and i dont know which header will work good with that setup. any thoughts?
