Default Final S2000 should be auctioned on S2ki

Here's what we should try to get Honda to do everyone. Lets try and buy the final S2000 and put it up for Auction on S2ki.com for everyone to have a shot. Last time i check, it says there are 46023 registered members. At that rate, it would be less than 1 dollar for each register member to have a single entry in the auction. Maybe i'm crazy, but i think this is brilliant. The final car will remain in the s2k community (instead of getting auctioned at Barretts or landing in some millionaires garage to sit as a doll). What we could do is sell entries for say 2-5 dollars a pop. You have no limit of how many you can buy. In the end, if we have say enough for the Final Car plus another earlier model, we can give away one of those. After said Final S2000 (plus possibly another for good measure) is purchased, we take the remaining money and use it to maintain s2ki.com. I see no reason why Honda wouldn't want to comply with this, unless they plan on keeping the final one for themselves. We should be able to organize this, as it would be a highly rewarding thing. Plus we could have a big gathering, located in the state with the most S2ki members where the winner will get the keys and his/her car.

It'll never work.. There are over 43k members, but not all of them will buy a ticket.. If you can buy more than 1 then I think it could work.

Yeah you can definitely buy more than one. I mean thats capitalism, you wouldn't be limited to just one.

And when do you suppose that last S2000 will be? Or are you already buying into the Car Mag "prognostication" and April Fools Day joke? You may have a very long wait (or not).

No i'm not saying anything about predicting the future, i'm just saying whenever it happens i think this community deserves to get a hold of it to auction to its members. Its not like we'd be asking Honda to give it out for free, but i think if everyone here had a promise from Honda that they'd save it for S2ki.com, we could find 34k (or whatever it costs by that year) in raffle ticket purchases to pay for the vehicle. After all, S2ki.com is linked from Honda Owner Link. That how i recently found my way here, and i'm sure others came here because of that link as well. I think Honda would comply with this, but maybe i'm being overly optimistic.

It's a safe bet I might be willing to buy more than one ticket.
Why don't you go ahead and set it up with Honda?

I will cry if / when the last S2000 rolls off the assembly line. That won't stop me from buying a ticket, though.

It's a good Idea, I'll buy at least 10 tickets!
