I have the Michelin Pilot Sports and they seem to be fine and much better in the wet; however, since I don't track or autocross my car I can't attest to their ultimate grip. I do know that their wear rating is much higher than the Bridgestones.

I have a set of RE730s on the rear that I will keep until the rain stops next month, then back to OEM SO2s. I use my S2000 as a daily driver also, and have been pleased with the 730s. Performance does suffer compared to the SO2s but for use as a wet weather tire, given the price, I find them unbeatable. Also, given their higher wear rating, I hope to get at least a couple of wet seasons out of them.

So you decided on the Michelin Pilot Sports. Did you replace all 4 or just the rears? Also what sizes did you go with?

Mostly dry and warm conditions - OEM S02s (just don't drive fast in the rain)
Cold conditions - Blizzaks
Wet conditions - S03s

(the above are culled from other's responses and are all "regardless of cost" and "performance is the primary goal")
