Finally
OK folks, after lurking around these here parts for a year or so, I finally took the plunge (or more accurately, the REAL boss finally let me take the plunge) - and brought home one of these babies. Brand new Silverstone Metallic with the Black & Red interior. It came home Friday night about 9:00 pm, after taking two hours to drive the (normally) 20 mile distance from the dealer to home. WHAT A BLAST, I can't wait till I after the break-in period is over and we can really start having fun.
Contrary to the advice on these boards, I had the dealer install the side strakes, and the rear trunk spoiler (the small one). I WAS going to have them install the front spoiler as well, but luckily he did not get one in Silverstone before the delivery date. I say thankfully because I can barely get the S into my driveway as it is. I have less than one inch clearance between the bottom of the front bumper and the road, regardless of whether I go in forwards or in reverse !! The driveway is a bit steep, thus the close shave.
In preparation for the new arrival I ordered a few items from Rick's, and Zaino Bros. They were ordered Wednesday - and Rick's stuff actually managed to beat the car to the house !! Unbelievable service !! I picked up a titanium shifter, the larger windscreen, & the front license frame. Calling for rain in this neck of the woods tomorrow (Houston area) - so may get them installed.
Thanks for all the advice over the years (even if you did not know you were goving me advice). I look forward to becoming a more productive member of these boards.
Photos to follow soon as she gets Zaino'd.
