Default finally decided s2k

well guys after alot of research and reading and comparing...i have finally decided that the honda s2000 well be the car for me. I looked at many cars such as the 350 z,srt-4,evo,sti and slower cars such as, rsx type s, celica gts, eclipse. I went to see all these cars in person even though none of the dealers let me test drive them, i looked and kept looking at the cars, going through the features, the comfort of the seats everything.

When i sat in the s2k...i felt sooo good, i told my friend...im gunna get this car i just love it...all the other cars were also comfortable...but none had the feeling of sitting on the s2k, plus top down

I WILL be buying my s2k by the end of april... i just have a few questions of the car, which i forgot to ask the the dealer.

1)Can you put the top on, while crusing in the car, i have done some research and figured that no...because you have to latch it...correct me if im wrong.

2)Can i expect a price drop on a 2004 model by April? the guy i talked to told me that, around April they will be getting the 2006 model of the s2000 (and that the 2005 model would drop), but i think he doesn't know jack, because he thought the s2k had a 2.6 L engine i think he said.

3)My brother has awsome credit, and im going to give a 5000 dollar downpayment, can i expect a low payment, if not, around how much?

4)Do they have the 2004 s2k model, in white with tan interior?

5)My 1st mods would be a Viper alarm, and a v1.....but performance wise...what can i do to the car without spending so much....i was thinking I/H/E...and if so....what parts...(if you can list a website of were i can find, for price etc.)

thanks guys alot... i cannot wait for the day i post saying "i finally got it!" *pics inside *

suprisingly a good intake/header/exhaust setup will run you quite a bit.

i say get some seat time around some tracks first, driving school perhaps.. get to know the car and the limits in a controlled enviornment

New S2k model years have been arriving in the Fall (October/November). The 2006 (if there is one) will not arrive before then.

Good choice on the car.

I would suspect that by this spring, there will be absolutely no (brand new) '04's available. So if you want a new '04, best to be buying now. But why bother? It's more than a year old the second you drive it off the lot. Might as well go for an '05.

i wouldn't mind if the 2004 s2k had a couple of miles on it...as long as i can get a decent price drop, but i will try and see if i can afford a 2005

Yes, 04 and newer S2000s (in the USA) that come in white have tan interior. There is a modification you can make that will allow you to lower and raise the top at low speeds. Do a search and you will find it.
As far as modifications go, there are tons to choose between, its just a matter of how much you want to spend and the results you want to get.
Good luck w/ your purchase.

Without a mod, you have to be stopped with the parking brake engaged to put the top up or down. It only takes a few seconds. If you stop at a stoplight just as it turns red, there should be plenty of time before it turns green.

Yes, though you might have trouble finding one by April. There is no difference between the 2004 and 2005 models, though the dealers will probably still mark down the 2004s if there are any left.

^I'll second that. I've done it many times.
