Technically i think your supposed to let off the gas a bit but keep giving it gas while barely putting pressure on the brakes

If that makes sense.

Im prolly wrong though, helped me in the snow.

^ thanks for the info you're right. Now I think of it I have done this before w/ the S in the rain before and regained control. I panicked a bit when I was spinning
i've felt the rear come out many times on damp roads at 30 mph, but it is because i got on the gas mid-turn. if you're applying minimal throttle and keeping a steady speed (and you're not speeding!), i don't think there's any way the rear will come out unless you mash the throttle with the steering wheel turned.

definitely check your alignment, and if there are any cracks in your rims. Glad to hear nothing is damaged.

Thanks . Definitley will do that. Just inspected the rims and car on my break, everything appears to be fine.

15-20mph on a damp 90deg turn in a RWD seems a bit fast, no? Unless the tires have good tread, I would just corner a bit slower

You might want to check the inside half of the tread on the rear tires. It can be very deceiving. You look at the tires but obviously most of the tire is not plainly visible. The outside half of the tire looks good to the eye. But you can wear out the inside half of the tire much sooner.

Just a thought. Glad your okay.

well, saying 90 degree turn isn't really telling you about the radius, I mean you know that the entrance and exit are 90 from each other... but...

anyway, yes, on the gas, unless you're not trying to recover it. Honestly I've learned the best way to learn (not really safest) how to recover is to lose control. I tend to find big areas where if i spun out I wouldn't hit anything, take the corner and let the back come out, more of a power slide than a drift but learning to control the car in situations like that makes the difference.

But I agree with other people probably coolant or something, maybe black ice if you get that there....

First time I spun my S2000 I was getting on the freeway, and the road was too cold and I lost it going around the corner...

glad you're safe

Thanks for the info/comments fellas.

joeydinc: The closest thing to black ice we'll see in south texas is if someone drops an Shiner Black from their ice chest LOL!

04S2KSS: Pris' Eclipse will smoke your S! .... LMAO!!!

I'll defintley take the wheels off tonight and inspect more thoroughly when I get home.
