Finally did the one cosmetic mod I've most wanted to do
Tonight I finally installed the classic Honda script badges, and I am thrilled to have done it. IMHO they give the car an elegance and flair the S2000 badge fails to deliver. They are subtle, rather than in your face. In comparision, the S2000 badges look kind of clunky. The photos I've posted below simply don't do the script badges justice -- they look much better in person and seem to have been molded into the sheet metal.
When I first saw this badge on the older S sports cars, I was sorry that Honda was no longer using them. Since the only script badges you could buy were rather crude metal castings that required holes to be drilled in the car to mount them, Reedz and I decided to make a modern version out of the same material we use in our S badges.
The install took about an hour -- 55 minutes to remove the S2000 badges (an easy but tedious job) and 5 minutes to install the script badges. I used Zenit and WD-40 to remove the glue from the S2000 badge. The Zenit (available at www.moreshine.com) works 10 times better and faster.
I replaced the original photos with these in bright sunlight, which come closer to what they actually look like in the flesh. The images start with a long view and zoom in. BTW, even with these on, people were asking me today what kind of car it was. So much for the powers of obeservation of the public

Did anyone think I wasn't proud to be driving a Honda sports car? Put that thought to rest!

I find your latest mod to be admirable and ironic at the same time Rick!!
Ironic: A lot of people replace the H badges completely with your S badges to make the car a unique "S" car. Some also do it to hide Honda. You were the creator of the frenzy, lol, and now you have put on a Honda Badge.
Admirable: You are showing off Honda pride, and not hiding its heritage.
I think it looks great Rick. Great job as you always do!
Hopefully see you at the Longwood Gardens Re-run. Great ride and roads wasn't it?
