Default Finally found source of maddening rattle

For the past few months, ever since I installed rear speakers, there's been a maddening rattle over my left ear which I just couldn't pinpoint. Yesterday, I finally found the source: a loose clip on the door panel, which I had removed to mess with the wiring for the speakers in the door. One clip was not fully seated, and after I pressed it into place, the rattle was gone. You might check for this on your own car if you have mysterious rattles and have removed the door panels.

I also have a rattle under my left ear. I've checked the door panels, and the clips are fine.
It sounds like my rattle is in the area of the convertible mechanism or someplace where the door latched to the body.
Just can't figure it out!

I had that rattle for about a week and it disappeared just and mysteriously as it showed up.

Check out the sun visors. I had a rattle that I swore was coming from the dash and it turned out to be coming from the sun visors. Felt tabs cured the problem.

I went to Home Depot and bought heavy duty round felt stick-on pads and put one on the visor and also on the opposite side of visor on trim so they touch when visor is up. This keeps the visor from rattling against the trim. I put them at end of visor away from where the visor is attached( towards center of car). I hope this helps. You can also have dealer fix this.
