Default finally found a track

I have been reading about everyone going to track days at their local tracks and it sounds like a blast. I started a search for a track nearby, I found 2. One 20 miles away that has closed down....lol and one about an hour or so away. No Problems Raceway, they have a drag strip and also a track. My question to everyone is .....Having never been, what should I bring? besides personal refreshments. What are some extras that y'all usually bring? Or nothing at all?

No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, LA? I went to an open track day back in 2001 maybe. I'd either bring brake pads (plus required tools), or put on a fresh set before you go. Fill up on fuel, even though there's a service station not too far away. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, camera.

Are you talking about road course, or drag racing? I haven't seen too much talk about people using the road course lately. Their website indicates that it's not even in use anymore. Definitely let us know how it goes. I'd love to get back out there.

If you're only inerested in the drag strip, I'd suggest State Capitol Raceway on Hwy 190.

If you're going to spend a day out at the track think about packing some of the following...

Water
Sunblock
Hat
Wind jacket (it's usually windy at the one I go to)
Snacks and/or lunch
Jack & Stands
Torque Wrench for lug nuts
Spare quart of oil
Spare brake fluid
Windshield cleaner
Towels for checking oil level and wiping hands

Most of all, bring an open mind and the fun.

check out the new orleans sub-groups near the bottom of the page.

they have a track in Zachary, La.. that is better than No Problems track...
although No Problem is building a new track, projected to be finished next year.
