Finally Got It Back!!!
Well, I got a pleasant surprise for New Year's Day. The bodyshop called today and said my car is finally done! Brand-spanking-New convertible top! I get to start all over with a clear rear window! I think that makes my car the one and only hybrid S2000! MY2000Car/MY2001Top! I only drove my car for a few weeks before it was heartlessly vandalized, so there were many things that were still new to me, actually caught me by surprise. After driving a manual Camry for a month, the S2000's short throw is SweeT! Vtec-ing (this is my first Honda) is SweeT! Sharp corners are SweeT! Hmmmm...Just about everything is SwEEt!!!
Sitting at the shop waiting for my car to be done, I got to talk to a very cool guy. He has two of a total of forteen Hamann Wide Body Kits ever sold in the US on his two E36 M3's. He has one that, other than the kit and wheels, is stock. His other M3 has a Vortech supercharger, custom HRE wheels 18x9 fronts and 18x11 rears, custom built xenon lights, a lot of other enigne, drivetrain, suspension and brake upgrades, etc. In other words, this M3 is DOPE!!! The thing that impressed me is he did every single thing himself. He bought the car crashed and had to put a whole near rear end, axle and everything, on himself. He even built the custom xenon lights out of OEM BMW parts himself. Performance-wise, the car is pretty impressive. He ran low 12's without drag radial and a full interior and stereo system. With slicks, he'd probably in the 11's. 11-second daily driver with about 360HP at the crank. He inspired me to get off my ass and make some money so I can start working on my car.
