Finally picked up my new S2k
Hello everyone,
Very excited about finally picking up my new 04 S2k Silverstone red/black. It is an unbelievable car.
Questions:
The owners manual says to keep it under 5500rpm for the first 650 miles, has everyone felt that is the best break in period and at that rpm? It is so damn hard to keep it under 5500.....
When is the best time to first wax it?
Thanks for all of your help and excited to be finally a part of the S2k experience!!!

Welcome aboard.
When breaking it in, just keep it below vtec for the first 600-650 miles. And be sure to check your oil level once and a while.
Don't know about when you should wax it.
Also enter your VIN so your status will show that you're an owner

Congrats!! You will find this site to be very imformative in caring for your S2K. One suggestion I will give you immediatly is to use the "search" function to find previous articles. There is a wealth of information that has already been written.
Congrats on your addition! Unless you guys have more firestorms, you should be able to do tons of top-down driving!!!
As for the break-in revs... just get in the car and drive to Yuma and back twice. That's about 720 miles and you'll have her broken-in in no time! And it won't be that stop-go stuff. The only drawback would be keeping your foot light on the desert floor!

Congrats on the new car.
I know for a fact you purchased the fastest color combination too!!
Vtec was hard to avoid for the first 600 miles, but break the car in right and it'll treat you well for many years to come.
You can't undo any potential damamge from an improper break in. Better safe than sorry.
