Default Finally took the plunge

After lurking here for the better part of a year, and admiring the S for several years, my 03 S arrives later this week. I debated about going for a 04, but found a new 03 in South Dakota and it will be mine. Any advice for a new S pilot?

Looks like you are in Iowa. I'm in Chicago and it's snowing like a bit*h.

Put her in the garage until late March unless you have some Blizzaks.

DO NOT drive in the snow (or sub-30F weather) on stock S-02's.

Do a search on winter driving.

Other than that, welcome to the club! My S puts a smile on my face EVERY morning.

my 2 cents

I don't know when the snow started there, but it has been going at it here for the better part of the day. As you suggested the car is going in the garage until warmer and better weather prevail. I guess I will just have to pretend. No winter driving here, that is what quattro on the A4 is for. Thanks for the welcome.

Grizzy21,

I am also debating too between '03 & '04. I live in the So Cal area and cars are expense here. Dealer quoted me out the door for an '03 for $30k.

How much did you pay out the door??

Thanks,
Tony

Tony,

I didn't do much better, 29.5K out the door and that includes delivery from South Dakota to Des Moines.

welcome to one of the most exciting cars of our time, and welcome to one of the best car owner forums of our time

keep the rev's up and you'll be fine.. don't be afraid to drive it hard, the car loves to be driven hard.

Guys,

I just came back from the dealer!! Have not made a purchased yet. I took my brother (who buys cars on a daily basis). The dealer offer an '04 out the door (meaning everything) @ $33780. Believe it or not, we wanted $32k but the dealer won't agree. AS soon as we left the door (closing time), he offer us $33K.

At this moment I am still debating on it.

By the way, we I live in the Los Angeles area.
