I was just thinking about it, twice when I had my S2000s I slammed my finger in the door when getting out of the car with the top down. I rarely parked the car with the top down and I also rarely slam my finger in the door (these were actually the only 2 times I've ever done it), so it seems that there may be some statistical significance to this phenomenon. Perhaps something about having the top down makes ones hand really want to stay inside the car for some reason?

I'm interested to know if anyone else has had similar experiences. Have you ever slammed your finger in an S2000 door? Was the top up or down when you did it?

Never caught my finger in the door on my S2000. But I had someone slam a car door on two of my fingers, then lock the door. That was fun.

Never happened. If you use the handle to close the door. I don't see how your finger can be anywhere near the edges of the door.

I've had young kids, thinking they were doing me a favor, slam the door on my fingers!
Suddenly you wish you could yell an expletive, but you control yourself and count to ten
through clenched teeth.

 

I also don't see how it's possible. Get completely out of the car, stand up, then push the door closed, it's pretty straight forward.

User error.

 

Get smaller fingers

 

Once with the top up. I had just taken the car out of winter storage so perhaps I was used to my DD?
