Default First damage...and a week old

So I decided to be nice and let my parents take the new S for an afternoon, seeing as they are somewhat into cars, even in their old age. About 2 hrs later, I get the fateful call that something happened to the car. Nothing serious, but with the notorious long front end my Dad pulled up over one of those curbs in a parking lot, and it had to be one with the little metal spike sticking up out of it.

Needless to say, it scratched the whole underside of the front piece, and put a quarter sized hole in it. ugh.

Yeah I feel your pain man. I had my car for less than a month and some ass back up and scratched the hell out of it. So now I have to dish out a couple hundred bucks to get it touched up. At least we are kind of in the same boat.

i think i can beat you all. i bought my car outside of Atlanta Georgia. about 40 miles outside of Georgia (that's right, i had owned the car for about 2 hours and 50 miles) i was passing a semi when it blew an entire recap off the trailer about 10 feet in front of me. no way to avoid it so it went under. i pulled over and found that my grille was busted in, OEM front lip was halfway dragging the ground (i had to rip half of it off with my bare hands and throw it in the trunk for the 450 mile return trip home) and the front bumper mounts for the OEM front lip ripped off. 2 hours, i had owned this perfect beautiful car. she is back that way now, but with a severe drop in the savings account (can anyone say buh-bye CAI and exhuast?). when i got out of the car and saw the damage, i literally vomited on the side of the road. i had to have my best friend who was on the trip with me drive for the next 2 hours because i was so sick i couldn't drive. i never got the trucks information, either.

that story still makes my stomach turn. she is beautiful now though.

Geez, makes my day a lot better

Just playing buddy, sorry about your bad luck. I learned that it isn't only the money but the agony you have to suffer to know that your baby isn't in PERFECT condition!

Damn.... I bought my 02 in GA from GPH. Three days later, heading down 85 South a GA Pacific truck drops some wood and you know it.... A nice chunk of 2x4 went smack into the bumper and under the car. I managed to capture the truck info but it's basically your wrod vs theirs and they denied the claim. Luckily a chin spoiler concealed 100% of the damage. ****in bastards...

I let some people drive my S, but only when I'm in the car with them. That way they don't come to close to the parking bumpers or come into driveways straight on.

My company pays for me to be able to park in a garage by my office. I had owned my S for about a month and parked it in said garage everyday for work. The parking bumpers were the low ones the car had no problem pulling over. One morning I pulled into a spot and as usual walked around the front to stair my baby in the face before I leave her for the day. When I did I notice the metal spikes on the particular space had not been installed correctly and were sticking about 1.5"s above the top of the bumper. These lovely pieces of rebar managed to punch two neat little holes right in the lower part of my bumper. Needless to say, I was pissed. I had a camera in my car so I snapped some pics then went to the property management company showed them the pics and filled out an incident report in which I stated the bumper had been installed incorrectly and caused damage to my car. A week later their insurance company contacted me asked me to get an estimate for the damage. I went to a body shop and got an estimate for having the bumper replaced and faxed it off. Another week later I got a check for $653.41 in the mail . I explained it real clear...If the bumper had been installed correctly my car would not have been damaged. The insurance company agreed and paid up.
