Default First Drag Experience

So I went to the local 1/8th mile strip last night and ran about 6 times or so. My best time was a 9.2 @ 78 mph .. This is with a launch at 7000 and then once launched switching on the 50 shot. I didn't get any chance to run with out NOS so I can't really tell how much of a difference it makes..

The reason why I didnt run with out NOS was because around my 5th run, I didnt pop the clutch (I was nervous and wasnt thinking) and just took my foot off of it, and it started slipping from 7000-9000 for about a second and a half, and then caught.. I was very upset with myself, and the car stunk like hell. On the ride home the clutch felt fine, however.. I hope I didn't mess up the disk too much (it's brand new!! )

Anyone what is everyone else running in the 1/8th??

Chris

Sounds like a lot of fun! None of the magazines post 1/8 mile times, to compare your NOS enhanced 9.2 seconds to 78 mph. Motor Trend just compared the Z06, M3 and Boxster S. The Boxster S did 0-80 in 9.01 seconds according to M/T. Different track, different conditions, but it sounds like our stock S2000s won't keep up with the PB/S in a straight line.

Motor trend also claims 13.6 1/4th times, which would be extremely hard to do.. I know there was room for improvment, but I didn't want to pay the price for my 'research'..

My transmission started feeling notchy and the clutch was smelling.. it's fine now, thank god, but I was scared for a while..

That's very interesting!! Thanks for the time.

4 mph and .2 seconds difference between an S/C'd car and a 50 shot. I am confident that I can improve my time. I think that if I do a normal launch (like when I launch on the street) and then start spraying alot sooner (3K) then I will have a better time. Something to try for next week!

CJ,

How much use do you expect to get out of your bottle? In other words, how long does it last before you need another one?

Apparently it has around 2.5 minutes of constant usage in the bottle.. I ran about 6-7 passes at the track, a couple test runs in the middle of the night on the highway and installing (testing with no nozzle on it - which is like a 1000 shot - for a couple seconds..)

And.. I still have some left, I am not sure how much but..

1000 shot?
You must be joking.
I wish you can do 13.00 flat with 50 shot Nos.
