Default First Driving Impressions

I picked my new Blue S2000 yesterday(VIN 6620). This board was a great help in many areas. I picked the car up at the Knoxville airport and drove it home to Charlotte. It was an interesting drive on interstate 40. There were several large thunderstorms and heavy rain. I worried about hydroplaning but the car did just fine even passing through several deep water areas. There were several accidents including one bad one involving a semi that hydroplanned and jackknifed. The car was great fun on the dry stretches through the mountains near Ashville.

The car impressed me in many areas including the lights, handling ( goes without saying) transmission and seat comfort. I found several things that annoyed me but most I knew about when I ordered the car. The lighter location is a cruel joke. The car was a louder then I expected at highway speeds. The Stereo was better then I expected however still not good enough and will be the first thing upgraded. The rear window seemed small in the test drive but after being in the car for an hour I got used to it and it is framed just right in the mirror so larger would not really help. The defroster was wonderful in the rain. How do you get by without one on the plastic window? The car with the top up was more comfortable then I expected and the blind spot not as bad as expected. With the top down things are perfect!

The engine and drive train are near perfect for what I want. I have not exceeded 5500 RPM yet per the manual for break in however the car is very easy to drive and feels slightly quicker then a Miata with the RPM limit for breakin. I have 340 miles already so hopefully in a few more days I can comment on the real engine!

Welcome to "the experience," & great choice of color! My Suzuka has 350 miles on it, so we're in the same boat. I'm enjoying every minute driving already, and know it'll even get better once we pass the break-in period--- lots of fun in store, even on the commute! Enjoy!

George, congratulations on your new S2000! And by the way, great color choice! Don'tcha just love it!

I love how the S2000 drives; I can forgive the small details because the overall driving experience of this machine simply
overrules any imperfections it may have. Mine's a daily driver, so I get a lot of freeway use. It's got over 3000
freeway miles in two months already, and each mile has been awesome. I've even gotten used to the "stiff"
ride.

Congrats again! Enjoy!

The lighter location is more than a cruel joke. It's not even a lighter.

So, what's the problem? Everyone knows that smoking is bad for you. Driving an S2000 is very good for you: it stimulates an energetic heartbeat, it makes you feel good and smile. Spend lots of time driving the S2000 and not smoking. You will be happier and healthier.

I should have said the 12 volt power recepticle is a cruel joke. I don't smoke however I have a passport 8500 that I use and am thinking about a GPS. Looks like I need to hardwire the 8500 into the car.
