FIRST LAUNCHES WITH MY 06
today, i went out for a nice drive. just rolled over 4k miles, and havent really gotten on it hard, so i found a place pretty much in the middle of nowhere. well, i decided i wanted to do some nice launches, first one, wouldnt be spinning the tires, just very aggressive. so i revved up to around 4500 rpm, and let off the clutch pretty hard, no wheel chirp, but a very nice, tamed launch. vsa was off.
well, i came back around, vsa still off, and i must of gotten a little too carried away. now, i'm not sure of the cause of this, buuuut...i revved the engine to just above 7k rpm, and let off the clutch. now, it wasnt a violent clutch engagement, and i really didnt ride/slip the clutch much. well, as i creeped, i realized the clutch was slipping, i was still sitting at around 7k rpm, but accelerating extremely slow. so i started freaking out, thinking my clutch was done. oh, and the burning smell was so strong, the car carried it for almost another hour
well, let it cool down, did another launch at around 5500k rpm, very little tire chirp, great strong launch, but no slipping clutch. anyways, just wanted to give my reviews. i'm still a little stumped on why the clutch was slipping. 4k miles, never launched, did this have something to do with the clutch delay valve, did i just rev it way too hi? oh, and any of you ap2 guys get a little squeak/chirp, when shifting pretty hard at redline. i heard this coming from near the front of the car, like a squealing belt, but for only a split second on the impact of the shift, maybe a clutch delay valve sound?

Its because all AP2s have a clutch delay valve. No matter what rpm you drop it at and how fast you drop it, your slipping your clutch.
Don't do any more launches till you get it removed.
You can search to get more info about the delay valve.

well, i dont track the car, and those will probably be the only launches the car will ever see, i never do em'. just wanted to see what it was like. but yeah, i will definitley consider doing the removal if i ever track it.

yup i removed mine and now my tires spin.. If your tires aren't spinning on the launch.. Your hurting your diff.
have any of you ap2 guys had a good wheel spin on a launch, is it even possible. like i said earlier, all i got was a chirp.
ive launched several times on my cdv. and several more after i removed it..
and there isnt much difference. the only difference is the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift. i can spin into 2nd and chirp into 3rd after teh cdv removal.

well you can still launch it and kinda like dropping the clutch..but instead you have to ride your clutch for a sec and let it off real fast..and you will get a pretty good tires spin and grab and go..that's another way for AP2 so you don't have to worry about the CDV
has anyone done a high rpm launch, like i did, in the 7-8k rpm range. i've seen some people say that high rpm launches are when the cdv will work the most, ie: more chances for the clutch to slip.
