First Oil Change
Hi everyone.
I'm new to this forum and a new S2K owner. I've had mine for 3 months now. 04 Sebring Silver Metallic.
This has probably already been discussed, but I'll ask anyway. When should I get my first oil change?
At the rate I'm driving, it'll take about 9 months to get to 3750 miles, the first recommended oil change.
Should I change it sooner, or wait till I get to 3750?

Welcome - this question has neen asked and answered, debated and ranted over, more times than anyone cares to say. You should certainly change at 6 months, regardless of mileage. But search on the topic, weigh through the comments, and make up your own mind.
I am changing at 1k, adding mineral oil back, and a can of mr. Moly Break-In. I want to ensure that any sand or metal left from the casting or machining is out of there, and the moly compensates for the high counts that have been reported fropm used oil analyses (UOA's) posted here. The S2000 come with a high count of molybdenum, either from assembly lube, or factory original oil fill.

guayabito: With the proper treatment, an engine can sit idle for quite a long time. If I were to let my car sit for six months, I would fill it with an ester like Red Line, which will stay on the upper engine parts. Disconnect the battery, put plywood under the wheel or lift the car a bit, etc. I would likely also squirt a little ATF into each of the cylinders and crank the engine over to distribute it - ATF has anti-foaming agents (silicones) that are great at preventing corrosion, which should not be so bad in an aluminum engine anyway, but the rings are susceptible.
Don't *ever* use Pennzoil.
After seeing how varnished up a low-mileage engine was that had been exposed to Pennzoil exclusively, I will *NEVER* use Pennzoil in any car I own... Not even a beater.
If you're going to use regular oil, use Valvoline (my Integra GS-R's engine was still very clean and shiny inside after 50k+ miles of HARD driving with Valvoline). If you're going to run Synthetic, use Mobil 1 or Amsoil.
