I found this website about 2 months ago, just as I was buying my s2000. I was fortunate enough (without having had the benefit of much of the advice found in this forum) to purchase my s2000 for msrp straight off the truck (it still had the plastic on it when I first saw the car). The car is really is a blast, and as others have pointed out in this forum, I'm looking for reasons to go out for a gallon of milk at 9:00 at night and taking the long way to and from the store. I've found lots of useful info on the forums about the car. Thanks.
welcome! glad to hear you are enjoying your car as much as the rest of the board. i would strongly suggest looking for a group drive in your area. it's a lot of fun spending some time with some other obsessive owners.
I've had my car for over a year and a half now, and I still look for excuses to go out for a drive. This works to my wife's benefit as well, since I never hesitate to run an errand for her.
Welcome to the club!
Welcome to the club!
Welcome aboard! I too bought mine fresh off the truck and remember with much clarity my first day with the car back in March 2000.
Oh, the places you'll go! Yeah, it's fast--there's nothing like the feeling of squirting into a hole in traffic after gunning it in 3rd at 45 mph and winding it out like a banshee, then snicking it into 4th with a little grin for your effort. But in the evenings, when you take your lady for a ride when the temperature is just right and the wind is in your face and the sunset is painted on the sky in panavision all around you--man, the car pays for itself in an instant.
Even after 2 1/2 years, I still greet the vehicle in the morning like I did the day I drove it off the lot. I haven't felt like that since I was a teenager with my then-new CRX. Cheers and welcome!
