Default First S2K Test Drive - Wind Deflection Question

Wind Deflection Question:

I am in the process of moving towards a S2K and test drove one for the first time this afternoon. It was a 2001 Yellow. I am 6'2 and the top of my head seemed to be level with the top of the windshield. While driving around with the top down, the wind coming over the top was skimming the top of my head pretty significantly.

I've done a search here for about 20 min and only find a bunch of posts on windscreens (Rick's etc) but haven't seen anything about a front windshield deflector to get the wind pushed up more coming over the top.

Do you guys know of any solution? Maybe I'm not searching the right thing.

First Driving Impressions:

Other first thoughts on driving this around for 10 min below. My experience/comparison reference is based on the previous ownership of a 1993 MR2 Turbo which I drove for 2 years, and is also sort of what I'm looking for again with performance/characteristics, etc. Right now I'm in a Camry

-The handling was incredible, very responsive with solid footing.
-Tight cabin (width wise), even for someone like me who is about 180lbs.
-More than enough room to move the seat back and have a comfortable driving position, I typically sit up straighter though.
-Can see the gauges perfectly fine. Not sure what all the commotion on the forum is about being too tall to see the gauge cluster. Unless you're over 6'4, I think you're fine.
-I expected the low end (sub 6K RPM) to be a little bit more powerful, though I knew going in the low end was nothing special on these cars. I can see how the 4.77 gears are a big deal.
-VTEC was interesting, I've never felt it before. It feels like a little boost of power through 9K RPM. Made me very much miss the kick back of a turbo spooling up though.
-Really fun to play around and run through the gears and rev all over the place, especially while maintaining higher RPMs.
-Radio sucked, were there only 2 speakers??

Overall had a lot of fun, I now need to drive an 04+ to decide.

All comments are welcome!

I've never seen a product for the S2000 for deflecting wind higher over the windshield. I'm not tall enough to have a problem though. Not sure if you wore a hat but that might make it more comfortable. I did add the Rick's rear wind deflector and that helps a lot with the wind from the back. Having the side windows up really helps with wind and noise but I rarely drive with them up because I like the openness. I thought the radio was pitiful also. I just swapped out the original speakers with a pair from Infinity and the improvement was great. You could certainly do better with a new stereo and new speakers, but the speakers alone may provide enough improvement.

Yep, only two speakers until much later years, 06 I think. Also, earlier years have even weaker stereos than a couple of years later. My '04 isn't really all too bad with a decent aftermarket headunit, no amp. Especially with the tiny cabin. Rear speakers are really only for fill anyway.

You can lower your seat. I think it'll give you a 1-2" drop.

I personally think the cabin is perfect width-wise. I'm probably a little wider than you at 190 and about 6'.

Seeing the cluster is all about adjusting the seat properly. The issue there is that if you're tall, you can't have a really super upright and more proper racing position. That is a little lame.

If you want a little more torque down low, you might want to look into 04+ - gearing is tighter and you have a little more displacement. Of course you're going to hear people here complaining about OMG UR LOSING TEH RAWNESS!!!111!!!

VTEC is totally weak if you're used to a Turbo. It'll take some time to get used to the S2000 if you're coming from a Turbo car. I came from a 250WHP Integra and the S2000 is just starting to feel a little peppy after 3 months (but I don't drive daily).

Can you lean back a little more? I'm 6'3" and don't have problems. I find I can scoot the seat farther forward with the S to get better pedal control and more recline. Most cars the seat goes straight back to the farthest setting, but not this one.

only things i can think of would be either to
A) recline back a little more.. like someone else said
or
B) get aftermarket seat rails that sit you lower down?

Thanks for the responses, I guess I'll play around with the seats to see what I could do. The only thing I found so far were rails that lowered the seats like 7/8 of an inch or modding the stock setup by removing foam/hammering the pan, etc to lower the seats so far.

Also from the responses it seems like there is no solution (deflector, etc) made to date for deflecting some wind off the top of the windshield?
