first testdrive !?!?!
i find it more noticable when i do a roll from 2nd gear. Stay at 40mph and then gun it, the crossover is very noticable.
Actually, at first, i also couldn't tell when VTEC engaged. After getting used to the vehicle, it became more detectable.

The S2000 was the first Honda I actually felt vtec "kick in." When it happens the sound of the engine changes quite noticeably and I will even say it throws you back in your seat a bit. Everytime I have noticed it, it has been between 6k and 6.5k rpm.
i let my girlfriends dad drive my car when it was bone stock and he thought it had a turbo cause of how intense the vtec kick in feeling was. he had never felt or knew what vtec was before. the AEM V2 intake made it sound a lot more aggressive i'm sure. he short shifted it at 8 too! ahaha wimp. i should let him try again with 4.77's and the charger and not tell him
I also found it weak on the kick...
I have been test driving cars like crazy and unfortunately, I drove the Lotus Elise right after a 07 S2000, it was quite weak after the Elise.
The S is still in the running though because of its creature comforts and oh yeah, its a fast car, you just have to keep the revs up to make it fast. Its just not as just much of a kick as other cars. To me what is more important is road handling over speed anyway.

The biggest difference between the two though is that 9000 rpms in the S2K comes up very quickly, at least in first gear.
it handled well... i hope no one at the dealership saw me drive it
i will just do some rolls next time i test drive one...
and dont u think it would be better to spend the $ on a ap1 and just put extra $ into the car and the engine(itself)

The AP2 has a more updated body and a slightly different engine.
i wont do anything to the engine at first... i might do an engine-swap but i havent done any reserch on it + that wont happen anytime soon... after all i dont have a s2k yet... but this weekend that might change...
