Fitting OEM spoiler

Default Fitting OEM spoiler

Hi lads! Just wondering what the 2 bars are for that come with the rear spoiler.It says that the need to be "installed to the trunk hinge arm of trunk lid" ?????? What does this mean.Anyone got a diagram or a pic of where they go .Thanks

I believe you're talking about the stiffer trunk springs. You install them because the trunk is a little heavier now and the stock trunk springs might not lift the trunk all the way. They aren't really required, but if you remove the spare tire cover/liner you'll see it near the top. It might be a little hard to install if you don't have the tool though, but a lot of people don't even run the newer springs.

Spot On.....

You can probably get away with OEM trunk bars with the lip spoiler. The wing spoiler will never open unless you replace with the stronger bars.

I have the OEM trunk spoiler and it opened just fine with the stock bars (springs).

I didn't know if the stock bars would get weaker over time. I figured I paid for the stronger springs why not put them on.

If you decide to put them on, your local dealer may even let you borrow the tool to do it.
