When I took mine in they said worked fine for them and no one else has come in with that problem, and while i was there the window worked fine, but as soon as i left what do you know, it didn't work, and has worked on and off ever since.

This is, without a doubt, the most common engineering defect on the car. I think it may even affect a majority of the MY2000s.

Prolene,

Apparently my new car has just developed this ailment. I have just turned 2000 miles on it and the driver's windows started acting strange yesterday.

The window switch has a detent that, when depressed fully, performs the "auto down" function. Now, when fully depressed the first time, the windows stops when you let go of the switch. The "second time" the switch is depressed, the window does the "auto down" OK.

I just tried dropping the top and sure enough, the driver's window didn't go all of the way down. So I moved the top back and forth a couple of times and now the window is working as expected. Therefore, the problem seems to have something to do with the way the top interacts with the "auto down" function as far as the electrical wiring is concerned. I'm referring to switches, relays, etc.

I guess I will keep an eye on this and see how things progress. I use the "auto down" function all of the time and noticed right away, that it was acting up.

Sadly, my initial observation and hypothesis has proven to be wrong; the auto down is still quirky.

Mine has done it a dozen times in the last week. Even when putting the top down.
I'm afraid to take it to the dealer, after hearing about their screw ups.

Good News! (I think) I just got back from my Honda dealership and the guy informed me that Honda just sent all their dealerships a fax letting them know how to remedy this problem. Almost like a recall. I just had mine fixed...now let's see if it holds.

Since this is a known probelm, I hope Honda fixes this for free, even if the warranty on the car expires.
