Default Flat black vinyl wrap?

So I saw a member wrap his hood and trunk and I've been watching the amount of win that accompanies flat black exotics.

I don't want to paint my car, that is too expensive and I don't think I could possibly be happy with a paint job, so I've been thinking about a vinyl alternative. A few hundred dollars and my paint is not only protected, but I also get a flat black car that I could reverse after a while when I get bored. It is also about as thick as a quality clear bra, so it would protect from rock chips and stuff. I would also paint/powder coat my wheels flat black. My tires would have shine though, I think I would also get a fairly dark tint all the way around.

I love my CR and AP1 bumpers, but I can't really decide if they would look good in flat black. I would probably have them both wrapped so I could change my mind in minutes instead of being stuck with one. But would either look good?

I also think cleaning would be easy because it would be like rinsing it, no need to wax or anything.

My inspiration comes from cars like this:

My car:

Does anyone have a totally flat black S? Are there other colors that look good flat?

i HATE flat black on any car especially exotics because it looks like you are driving a POS. i guess it has to do with it originating from the ricer crowd to rattle can their cars to at least make it 1 color so flat black on any car makes it look cheap.

some people like it though, but i want my car as shiny as possible. i'd say don't waste money on it.

Vinyl wrapping usually costs from $1-3k when you consider install time. It's not going to happen for "a few hundred bucks" unless you get cheap stuff and do the install yourself.

And matte black is the successor to lambo doors and LED fogs. It'll be played out.

Yeah I researched the price, it's a few hundred more than a few hundred. No worry, I could swing that. I wouldn't want to paint it, but if I can find a car and get a good look at the quality of a good wrap I would do it.

More research is definitely needed before I do anything. This would happen in the fall some time.

Think outside the box... it's been done hundreds of times on hundreds of cars. The Carrera GT is certainly different, but I know it isn't the first either in flat red. Lots of possibilities when using vinyl...
