I've had minor flickering in the car that corresponds with rpm speed/AC as long as I've owned it (awhile). And I have put in a new battery, never made a difference. How much was the new diode order? The flickering doesn't really bother me but is this hurting the car any other way?

 

I've had this "issue" ever since I bought the car. When I'm sitting at a light at idle, it just barely flickers. At the touch of the gas, basically over 1000rpm or so, and the dash stops gently flickering.

I'm not concerned..
