Flood Damaged MY2001 S2000
Does anyone on this board know anything about a MY2001 S2000 that may have suffered flood damage in Texas. That is the story that is being used by a Pennsylvania dealer that is asking $20,000 for the vehicle. The seial number is very low in 2001. Any info appreciated.

I did not check the mileage myself, but a freind looked at the car before me and he said there was under4,000 miles on it. There is no body damage visible and the interior (except for missing gearshift knob and radio) appears in good shape. The vehicle is in Walnutport, Pa. That is about 20 miles north of Allentown and about 75 north of Philly.

VIN is JHMAP11441T001609 in case anyone wants to check it out on carfax.
Sent you an email Scot with the info.

Can someone run a carfax on it please?
I just called and they said they want $22k fixed ahahaha... apparently they popped both headlights trying to clean them, and the airbag sensor thing was bad due to water.? they say that part is about $600.....or with some quick negotiations, i got him down to $20k with the headlights fixed, but not the airbag thing.
If i can get him down to $19k without the headlights, then buy some here for $350.....????

I don't mean to rain on the parade here, but a flooded car can be a major hassle unless you change all the electric components.
You never know, which electric component might fail next due to corrosion in the wiring or the component itself.
I believe a flood title voids the warranty, though I'm not sure how this is handled in the US.
If you really want to build a racecar and rework the wiring harness, change the ECU etc. anyway, it's probably a fine deal.
If you want a cheap street car, you might be better off looking for a nice, higher mileage car with a clear title and a PO who treated the car fine.
Just my 0.23

Scot: Becareful of flood damage..... not only does it screw up the electricals, and it may take a while to find out (some are damaged by flux and mold) but many components (transmision ect) have breather holes that allow in water. 19K seems high to me.
