Default floormat hook/post on drivers side is loose.

Ive had my 00 for about 1 month now and it gets irritating having to fix the floormats all the time, I have noticed that the hook that hooks onto the eyelet of the floormats is really loose, I can grab the post and move it around under the carpet quite a bit, Im planning on getting one piece floormats, but for now how can I fix this? Double sided tape or what?

Thanks

Go ultralight!, ripping out the carpet is a great first step!
Seriously, a 6 year old car and this is your big irritation?
You might be able to wiggle the carpet around enough to tighten up the fastener that holds the post in. If I remember correctly though , the post on my MY00 wiggled around as well, so it may be a rivet or something you can't tighten holding it in.
Good luck to you...
Someone will soon be along to post up the S2000 "anal-retent-O-meter" graphic.
Cheers,
Mike

mine are held in by phillips head screws...if you make a small insision, which should be near already for where the post comes out of the carpet you can get in there to tighten it up. The best way to do it though if you have time a patients is to take the carpet up to get to it.

I think you can get a kit from the dealer to add a second post and eyelet also. As said above the hook is held in with a screw into a plastic anchor.
