Default Ford excursion rode over my hood

Nobody can believe what happened last night:
I stopped on the red light. there was that ford excursion (extra lifted) and suddenly put reverse gear and rode over my hood. I will post the pictures as well.

Unfortunately, beyond the body work, my engine block is all broke down. I believe engine will be replaced. My preference is car to be totaled. but the adjuster will have a look on monday.

What should I do? I got it 2 months ago and now I lost a lot of value on my car. If it will be just repaired but not totaled, who would compansate my loss.

Such thing has never happened to me before. Any advise?
Would my car become as good as it used to be if it is repaired?

If they do fix it, I would demand depreciated value, since your engine numbers will no longer match and will impact your trade in value. Additionally, each body panel is marked with VIN numbers which will no longer match or be present any longer either.

It is hard to get them to agree to it, but if they don't, go to your state insurance board and ask for help. If you get flak from te insurance company, sometimes threatening the state insurance board is enough to make them change their tune.

Pray for a total!!

You haven't driven in California, have you? I've seen just about everything in the 3 years I've been here, my favorite is when I saw a woman come to a complete stop on the freeway because she missed her exit. She then proceeded to drive across 2 lanes of traffic, cutting people off on the way to get to the exit.

There was a big law suite(sp) against allstate and state farm about paying the difference between what the car was worth before and after the accident. they lost... your agent should know about it. If not a lawyer will

Um, I've actually reversed and hit someone behind me driving my 4WD Toyota P/U. I was waiting at a light and it seemed forever before I got the green so I thought maybe I had run past the signal sensors so I was going to back up a few feet. It was late at night and I didn't see anyone behind me. Guess what, there was a car so close to my bumper that I didn't even see its headlights and I made contact. There was no damage so we went off on our way. Oh yeah, this happened in California!

Guess what I'm trying to say is if you have a "low" car, it is probably wise to stay further back from the car in front of you because there is no way they can see you from their mirrors. I also now move a bit over to the left so that the driver in front of me is able to see my headlight from their left mirror just in case they decide to back up.

I believe him - I've written 2 crash reports like this. An ex-roommate of mine also had it happen to his car.

I would get a lawyer for sure if they don't give you a new car. It's only 2 months old and you deserve a new one, not a wrecked f-d up one that looks new. Damn stupid excursions planetkillers.

OK then my bad for calling bs i guess anything could happen i drive trucks all day long and i know always to check and double check when driving i just cant see how some would just go into reverse at a light but i guess anything could happen.

its not only the part about revesering that made me call bs it was just the way he was telling the story and it says Guest / Enthusiast if hes talking about a S2000 then why would he not have entered his vin when creating his account with S2k hes a new member so its not liek he just got the car and was a member before his car.

also lets say your right behind the truck like right on his ass and the truck is also lifted i dont understand why yuour enigne block would be all broken down i can see that happening if your right behind the center of the tires but then he would have saw you.
