You should be OK - if you don't notice anything obviously wrong right now, I wouldn't worry about it. I've done it a couple of times too.

I'm willing to bet over half of the owners here have done that.

Don't worry about it, unless you panicked and unconsciously held down the switch for an hour.

I've done it a few times myself. I've also tried to raise the top with the tonneau cover still installed.

when i visited one of the honda dealers and check out a s2000, I asked the salesperson to put the top down. And I guess he had no idea that he had to unlock the latches before putting the top down, and he just kept on pushing the button and goes "hmm that's weird why won't it open?" and i go "u gotta unlock the latches first" He's been doing that for like 5 minutes untill i told him. And finally he had it opened after he unlocked latches, so i guess it should be ok

You are the only person ever to have made this mistake, so we're really in uncharted territory.
I'd do as dookiewhat did and replace your soft top and soft top motor as soon as possible. If you suffered a catastrophic failure of these critical parts while driving, it could result in loss of life.

There is some research that Honda uses the soft-top motor as an auxiliary drive motor, similar to the Insight, the hybrid Civic and the Prius. If this is true, your action could lead to the destruction of your F20C. You might want to have a compression check on the F20C when you have the soft-top replaced, or, just to be safe, replace the F20C also.

In the future, complete your pre-flight check list with no short-cuts.
