Default Found A Nice Dead Pedal On Ebay!

I was searching Ebay and I found an aluminum (I think) dead pedal with rubber studs for $5, or $15 to my door. I got it, it was well machined, and fit well. If you have a 00-01 definitely take a look into it. He had 3 available so he may be making them in shop class or something.

My friend is currently prototyping a dead pedal made of aluminum for 00-01s since we were shafted with our plastic pedal. You found a good price on ebay, but we're trying to match the pattern of our pedals and find those rubber things so if anyone else is interested, stay tuned, I may try and set up a group buy. We're going to try and see how the So Cal guys like it first, before selling it elsewhere. I'll try and post pictures later this week. It likely won't be that price though, so good find!

I guess showing some entrepreneuralship is a good thing but why re-invent the wheel when these aluminum dead pedals are already out there and commercially available? You can even adapt one of the newer OEM ones to an older car though the price is a bit steep.

xviper that's true, i didn't know the oem one is cheaper than 25 dollars.

also, its sorta fun to make something for my car in my garage. i couldn't think of anything else to make out of metal besides full body armor. i just wanted to see if ppl were interested, not to make money. i really wasn't sure about the price. and also, the ebay ones don't preserve the pattern nor do they have the rubber gromets. any advice or response, xviper?

furthermore, so far the guys i've talked to are semi-interested, i even asked someone else about the price. those rubber gromets are sorta hard to find. has anyone purchased one NOT from ebay at retail price so i can compare. i'm trying to be affordable, not considered expensive.

and one more thing, the 02 and later deadpedal, i BELIEVE (not positive), does not have the correct holes. not positive, though.

the one i got from ebay has rubber grommets and seems to match the pattern pretty closely.

handa accessories sells the OEM one for like $70. Majestic too. The plastic one is like $5.

As one who "invents" stuff at home (though I don't market mine), I applaud you for your initiative. As a private individual doing this for fun and little or no profit, I think it is possible to seek out interest but be sure to review the forum rules for such things (group buys, selling, etc) so you don't run amuck of the site policy. I am not in control of such regulations and I would hate to see you spend a lot of effort only to discover that you cannot proceed. If the posted rules are a bit confusing for your particular case, I would suggest you PM "Krazik" or "Cthree" for a ultimate word on the matter.
