This photoshopped rumored 4-door has been making the rounds for more than a year. I don't think you'll see such an animal anytime in the near future.

I think more interesting than the 4-door thing was the last sentence of the article.......

"A 2.2 litre engine with increased torque (lack of torque was the greatest complaint of the S2000 convertible) is in the works. "

Unless the Honda engineers we met in Tokyo were lying to us, there are NO plans for base any other kind of car besides an "open car" on the S2000 chassis. That exludes ANY interest in making a sedan out of an S2000. Period. The S2000's design imperitive is to be a sports car/convertible/open car. And that's how it shall remain.

The only 2.2l motors are manufactured by Mugen. There are 3 of those and that will in all likelihood never see production...

C3, whatever happened to that Rumor Mill forum idea?!

Besides, it would be very difficult to adapt the "high X-frame backbone" construction to accomodate rear-seat passengers.

I hope all these sedan and automatic rumors are all BS. The S2K is fine the way it is. It is a head turner because not many people know what it is and they don't see them often. I would hate to have that change if they made an automatic version or worse, if they made it into a sedan!
