I've got the same problem. It look just like Siepel pictures. How many are Yellows? Who is going to keep track of all of the VIN and take this to Honda? I notice this when I picked mine up and it has been getting worse. I made sure at my first oil change they made a comment on my receipt. Let me know how I can help.

Cheers,

Yes my five page letter went out on July 2. It has been over two weeks since I met with the Honda rep. and I haven't heard ANYTHING FROM ANYONE.

I like the car, but I hate how HONDA is treating me!!! They just don't care! I will never buy another HONDA ever again!!!

JoeyO, have you tried calling the regional American Honda Customer Service Center? In the past I've called the office in Gaithersburg, MD at 301-990-2020. This is NOT the office for GA (it was for NC) but they can direct you to the correct one. Give that a try, I've had good luck in the past.

FYI, if this helps, I don't have this problem -- '01 Spa Yellow VIN #3984, and I have an X-Brace....

When we were shopping for my S2000 we found that several of the brand new cars sitting in the dealerships have problems with the paint on the bumper. I would guess that about 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 we looked at was already showing this flaw. I made sure that mine didn't have it when I picked it up, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it appear one day.

I have a 2001 Red with the same peeling. You may want to do another search on this. There should be a long thread about this. It is a very common problem. Good luck and let us know what comes of your meeting

Just received a call from American Honda in Cal. They stated they have "no information regarding the front bumper problem." So I guess we are all just dreaming about it!

They also stated that any information on the WEB is not conclusive evidence that there is a problem. People must complain directly to their dealers, then Honda will recognize the problem!

People who have the peeling problem please write a letter to Honda addressing it.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
National Consumer Affairs

Torrance, CA. 90501

Thank you!

Three weeks after the Honda rep. meeting and still nothing!!!

Update-

Honda of America called me today and stated they "found" a bumper with the new design. My body shop person stated they (Honda) had him look at several new bumper to make sure it was the new desgn. So maybe Honda doesn't know of the new design or they are trying to cover it up!

No word on whether there is a new part number still looking into that and how Honda is going to settle my claim that the car value is depreciated because of the lose of the VIN sticker on the factory installed bumper????

I will be present when the bumpers are switched out and take several pictures of the difference in the "new design" bumper.
