Default Front Chin Clearance

Does anyone know what kind of height difference the OEM front chin makes? I read in the Commonly Asked Questions section a 4.5 and 5in spec but my stock car sits over 6in so I don't think that can be accurate.
Thanx,
Alex

No clue. I am wondering myself, cuz I want to get an Amuse lip and I want to know how much clearance I would have.

about 3.5" at the lowest point.....stock suspension. (plus or minus a few mm.) You will not be able to leave a gas station ramp head on and no scrape. I have the amuse lip (about 2.8-3.2 inches at the lowest point on fin), with stock hight, I am a pro at exiting/entering slopes, and anything more than 30 degrees is scrapage.....

i've got an amuse and i'm sitting at stock ride height. i've only scraped bad twice. once because the dip was ridculous and the second time because i didnt take a good enough engle while going down. make sure you get the polyurethane lip so you dont crack it. touch up paint is all you need. that and learn how to take dips at an angle and slowly. all in all, i'd buy it again if i had the opportunity.

I just put on the chin spoiler from Honda recently. I haven't had any scraping problems yet.

I put on an OEM front lip on another owner's car. This thing reduced his clearance under the front bumper by about 1/2". It's very minimal. However, my Amuse "style" lip is another story. This one reduces the clearance about 2.5" - 3" (depending on the size of spacer the came with it or by the length of spacer the owner ended up putting on). I scrape stuff all the time if not very careful.

Hmm....

To the people that have the Amuse Lip:
Do you recommend getting that or the OEM one?

oem looks better and cleaner, go for it.

amuse only looks good on a heavily modified car. on a stock(or semi-stock) s2000, it looks out of place.

The Amuse type lip is NOT subtle. If your car is otherwise stock, it might be just a bit too much. However, if you have the new '04 OEM rear "wing" (as opposed to the "spoiler" rear lip) like I do, the Amuse goes good (IMO).
