Default Front end collision

Long story short this older lady took a wide turn to pull into a driveway and came to a stop, at about 30mph I tried to move the car to miss her but clpped the passenger side of my car. I know its going to be my fault because it is a rear end accident, but based from the two pictures I have, what do you all think.

At the time of the accident I didnt even want to look at my car, I went back down later that day and it didnt look as bad as I thought. I popped the hood and everything inside the hood looks fine and dont see any bent items in there. My car is a 04 and had about 79k miles. The things that I know for sure that will need to be done are: new front bumper, passenger quarter panel, the head light looks fine just the lens looks like it would need replacing, windshield, both seatbelts, the airbags and the items that go with those things.

Here are a couple pics.

Well it looks pure cosmetic, but both airbags went off. They are extremely expensive to replace. I've seen plenty of car get totalled by the insurance because of the air bags. Good luck

I'm trying to understand- were you following her too closely when she stopped suddenly and you couldn't avoid her in time?
Sorry to hear about it and good luck with the repairs

that car will most likely be totalled or damn near close to it. airbag systems are extremely expensive to replace. Depending on how much they quote your car being worth, you may get lucky, better hope damages aren't more then 80% of the value. good luck!

As stated, could go either way. Prepare yourself for both possibilities.

And I also am wondering a bit more about the accident...I presume she was turning right into a driveway and you were too close to slow down? At 30mph, the only way you couldn't slow down in time is by following too close. Glad you are ok, sad about the S!

The lady had pulled off too the side and slowed down and i started to go around and then she cut me off turning. No turn signals, and took the left turn way to wide, they are supposed to pull to the left side to turn left not pull to the right then turn. Of course being a young kid coming out of an s2000 there is obviously going to be judgement. I spoke to a police officer in a town next to mine and even said the police in my town are really "rough." And even told me what to say to fight the ticket but the officer is willing to cut me a "break," if i talk to him in court.

Interesting...talk about a wide turn. That would seem to be obviously her fault. Is your insurance company going to fight it?
