Default Front fender clearance issues..

Ok, not sure this is the right section of the forum for this question but anyways.

I dont understand the front fenders and wheel clearance. I have my car dropped very low right now, see pic for reference. I recently heard the front wheels "rub" while I was turning the wheels at a good angle, I was turning and in the turn there was a bump. So I checked the fender and sure enough it had hit and broken the paint alittle bit. I dont see what the solution to fixing this would be?? Even if you rolled the fenders, it seems that on a corner where the wheel is turned at a good 30 degree angle the wheel will still hit the fender when the suspension is compressed. Even getting wider fenders, this situation would still be present when the suspension compresses.

----Is it possible to fix this so there is NO rubbage at all angles and extremes??

My wheels are 17x8 + 45 up front, I know that is pushing it, BUT if I had the stock wheels on, the wheel would still be able to hit the fender when turned. So wtf?

I had the same problem... I just raised my coilovers a bit.

you can also try deflating your tires a bit in the front.

That doesnt fix my problem, if I raise the coilovers a couple milimeters this will still happen under aggresive driving or tracking driving.

Had the same problem with the 8 in wide front wheel dropped back to a 7.0 wide and started running 225/45/17 tires and have no problem. Currently I have only about 3/8 to 1/2 clearence from fender to top of tire but have no issues with rubbing.

Ya, but the fact that you have a 225 tire on a 7 inch wheel and I have a 205 on a 8 inch wheel almost equals out.

I dont get it.

I am wondering if I roll the shit out of the fronts this problem will go away. I want to get it setup working correctly before I have the fenders repainted because of the cracked paint, I am OCD about my car. Sucks.

I am a tire dealer by trade and trust me wheel width does matter. it dont matter if you have a 205 on a 8 inch wheel or a 225 on a 7 inch wheel. The 8 inch wheel is still wider. Also what is your offsets on your wheels. If the wheel has too much offset to the outside of the mounting point it is going to scrub. You may even have to end up with going with a different offset to acheive what your wanting.

Offset is +45. If I get 10 mm wider fenders I think I should be fine? Or just roll the crap out of my stock fenders.

Getting a new wheels with different offset is not an option.
