Default Front lip installed

I installed an OEM front lip last night. Only took about an hour and looks real nice. For those of you that have these, how much more careful do I need to be? I know that it lowers the front an inch or so and sticks out further, cutting the angle I can safely go up. Any rules of thumb? I am hoping to get used to the difference without testing the paint on a curb! Anyway, if you have any experiences that might help me keep the lip Silver, I'd appreciate it.

Watch out for the parking bricks when you pull in to a spot.

Take it easy turning in to a driveway.

If you see a dip in the road, slow down.....

measure your velocity by the weight in the car factor in treadwear divide by pie and the multipply the angle difference between the road you are on to the one you are appraching by a factor of 1.5 that should do it, or just drive really careful and slow.

You're almost definately gonna munch it eventually, but if you're careful it won't be bad.

I added my lip two weeks ago. I had already lowered the car two inches with nuespeed sport springs so I am REALLY low.. I really don't notice a whole lot of differance. I already had to be VERY carefull and cut inclines at a steep angle to avoid scraping. I bought a piece of 2mil aluminum. Traced out the shape of the lip and cut it out as a scrape protector. It works great. It takes a little time to cut out the pattern then sand the edges to a nice finish. But then just apply with 3m and it will keep the road from taking the paint of your precious body parts. When I do here it scrape I know it's only scraping the protector and I don't cringe nearly as much as I used to when it happens.. Good luck and enjoy!!!

That's been the case with me as well.

I've learned to go slow when entering or leaving driveways, be careful whenever pulling close to a curb, and be extra pulling up to parking blocks.

I already have to use a big ass piece of wood to help me up my driveway without a lip. Definitely becareful parking. Those parking bricks and tall curbs are nasty.

Like everyone else said, just be careful. I look at it this way , its better to scrape the lip than to scrape the bumper. Cost wise that is.

change that 1.5 to 1.72 if you weigh greater than 172 lbs. 1.85 if you have two passengers in the car.
